In terms of the property of enterprises, state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in China took the largest share of 49 percent in the total export value of textiles and garments in 2002, followed by foreign-funded enterprises (Chinese-foreign cooperative enterprises, joint ventures and exclusively foreign-owned enterprises) by 36 percent and collective enterprises by 10 percent. The export value of SOEs was US$29.976 billion in 2002, up by 6.67 percent from a year ago; that of foreign-funded enterprises was US$22.075 billion, up by 12.95 percent; and that of collective ones was US$5.976 billion, up by 34.22 percent.
As for China's import of textiles and garments in 2002, foreign-funded enterprises plays the biggest role by 67 percent of the total, followed by SOEs (28 percent) and collective enterprises (4 percent).
The import volume of SOEs was US$3.987 billion in 2002, down by 3.73 percent from a year ago; that of foreign-funded enterprises was US$9.586 billion, up by 5.45 percent; and that of collective ones was US$572 million, up by 13.67 percent.
