China is the largest supplier of USA in leather apparel

USA - According to the official reports of the U.S. Department of Commerce, China is the largest leather apparel supplier of United States with 70% market share. The leading leather apparel manufacture China exported 1.2 billion USD leather apparel to the USA in 2000. The exportation share of China increased in 2001 too. According to statistics, The USA imported 977 million USD leather apparel between january-september period of 2001, and this figure is 19.2% larger than the same period of 2000.
China enters the market mostly by way of the high demand from Wilsons Leather Co. This company which purchase its leather products mainly from China, is the largest retailer of leather outerwear, apparel and accessories in the United States and have its own retail outlets and storemalls in all around the USA.
