In April 2003, Xiamen will hold 4 trade fairs and exhibitions : 2nd international procurement fair for transnational retail groups, 7th Taiwan commodity fair, 25th Xiamen national pharmaceutical equipment exhibition and 3rd Xiamen international fair of consumer articles. It was unprecedented for Xiamen to hold so many trade fairs and exhibitions of large size in such a short period. According to authorities concerned, Xiamen international fair of consumer articles, to be held regularly every year in Xiamen, was a priority trading fairs with government support.. The fair was expected to be another trading fair of large scale in Xiamen together with the international investment fair and Taiwan commodity fair.
