Processing trade in Xiamen customs area increased instead of decreasing in SARS epidemic, and exports showed a growth momentum.

  According to Xiamen Customs statistics, processing trade contracts which were put on records in Xiamen customs area were 3035 in the first quarter of this year, with a value of US$ 2.4 billion, up by 0.4% and 14.2% respectively, of which contracts put on records in Xiamen were 2366, with a value of US$ 2.03 billion, up by 0.8% and 11.5% respectively.

  Imports and exports by processing trade in Xiamen customs area were US$ 976 million and US$ 2.42 billion, up by 29.3% and 39.6% respectively. In April, imports and exports were US$ 240 million and US$ 580 million, up by 15.6% and 45.5% respectively.
